500 Bouquets: 1999-2000
Printed cellophane. Height 120 cms
Atrium Gallery, Villiers Street, London
This installation was constructed over a period of seven days and was exhibited encompassing the new millennium. The work had an affinity with, and was specific to this particular occasion, incorporating notions of memory, celebration and commemoration.
500 bouquets is an installation that utilises the form of a flower wrapping. The wrapping is formalised to an elementary geometric structure. These structures are empty and vacuous, making references that allude to memory, history, loss and timelessness.
